Cormorant House marks our second project with Acorn Education, following the successful full design and installation we completed at Oak Tree School. Acorn Education is the UK’s leading education provider for children and young people with special educational needs, so it was a pleasure to return to another of their schools to deliver a brand-new kitchen.
Our objective was to design and install a fully self-contained, all-electric kitchen that included every essential element: preparation, cooking, serving, and storage for dry, chilled, and frozen goods, along with warewashing facilities, all within a limited space. The area, previously used as office space, required extensive adaptation to suit its new purpose. Working closely with Classic Builders, we overcame significant challenges such as low ceiling heights and restricted ventilation routes. We thrive on challenges, and effective solutions were found to meet every design requirement.
The completed kitchen combines high efficiency with environmental sustainability. Equipped with a top-tier induction range, ELECTROLUX Combination Oven, energy-efficient warewasher, and an advanced grease recovery system, it earns top marks for green performance.
