Thermae Bath Spa

Rooftop bar for The Terrace

YTL own the spa in Bath which is opposite the Gainsborough Hotel.  They wanted to add a bar onto the roof terrace to serve Prosecco, bottled beer, soft drinks and ice creams while customers sat out in the fresh air after their treatments.

The Works

Design a bar to serve the required range of products that would wrap around the round staircase of the building. It needed all of the equipment including bottle coolers, ice machine, freezer and glasswasher to make it self-sufficient. It also needed to be able to withstand the weather and be capable of remaining in position all year.

We worked with Partridge and designed a bar on a stainless steel frame to be strong, light and durable which was clad in a Designer Steel sheet and a sintered stone called Neolith which is resistant to ultra violet, water, frost and again is light for its use on the roof.

a group effort well done

After taking many on site measurements and many more Designer hours at the computer the bar curves with the building, shines in the sun and the top so closely matches the building it seems to radiate out from the walls.

With many thanks to Chris at Partridge and the team at Steve Bristow Stone for all of their assistance and to our installation team who for the first time ever had to wear shades, shorts and sunscreen while installing the equipment.
